Who is a Prosthodontist?

A prosthodontist is a dental specialist in the restoration and replacement of teeth. Extensive training and education provide prosthodontists with the skills for restoring optimum function and esthetics to your smile. Prosthodontics is one of the nine American Dental Association (ADA) recognized dental specialties.

  • Esthetic Dentistry, (crowns, veneers, tooth colored restorations and whitening procedures)
  • Implant Dentistry (replacement of single and multiple missing teeth)

The Prosthodontist is generally the team leader or “quarterback” in the development and execution of the dental treatment plan. He (or she) is trained to lead a collaborative team involving many dental professionals including general dentists, oral surgeons, periodontists, endodontists, orthodontists, pediatric dentists and lab technicians.
